NBA Finals Handicapping

As NBA playoff action continues, sportsbook cappers are furiously focused on predicting the action in the finals. Will we see surprises and upsets along the way? Are the Lakers just too dominant for anyone to hope to stop? These burning questions and more will be reviewed below.

Fans of NBA betting have enjoyed a fast-paced post-season thus far. While many see the field as simply the Cavaliers and Lakers pulling away to take their anointed spots in the 2010 finals, there is some possibility for upset.

As it stands, the Cavaliers are currently theĀ northbet.com favorites to win the finals, with the Lakers only slightly behind. Rounding out the cream of the crop, Orlando Magic is currently approximately a five-to-one underdog, while the Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks are both sitting approximately at ten-to-one odds.

Looking at the current series, Phoenix has been absolutely dominating the Portland Trail Blazers. Many have rallied around the Suns, having a lot of hope around Phoenix's 2010 post-season. However, if the Suns face the San Antonio Spurs in the next round - and they very well might, look for that hope to end.

Tim Duncan has proved to be the Phoenix Suns cryptonite. Since Duncan entered the league in 1997, the Suns and Spurs have met in the playoffs sic times. The Suns have lost five of those series. There one win came when Duncan was out, injured.

However the field does unfold, look for Los Angeles and Cleveland to meet in the finals, where you can expect the Cavs to live up to the betting lines, and take the 2010 NBA Championships.
