Armstrong Accused of Cheating by Landis

Similar to Jose Canseco when the MLB was under investigation by the US Senate a few years ago for players using steroids, former Tour De France cyclist Floyd Landis, after admitting to using performance enhancing drugs, is attempting to take as many people down with him as he possibly can. Betting enthusiasts could have placed a bet online a mile away when determining who Landis's first target would be, as he accused fellow American and seven time tour winner Lance Armstrong of also using performance enhancing drugs. Landis has opted to go in the same path as Canseco as he has picked cycling's golden boy as the prime example of someone using performance enhancing drugs. This comes as no surprise as many fans and experts alike have always considered the possibility of Armstrong using drugs since he was able to win the tour for seven straight years.

It is impossible to believe that in the seven consecutive victories there was no better rider, who would have been able to knock off Armstrong if he was clean. During the MLB steroid usage scandal, Canseco a frequent juicer immediately picked out baseball poster boy's Roger Clemens and Alex Rodriguez as fellow juicers. Although it took a few years, both ultimately admitted to using steroids throughout their careers. On the contrary however, after A-Rod admitted to using steroids at the beginning of last year, he then proceeded to have one of the most statistically dominant seasons of his professional career while guiding his New York Yankees to their first World Series Title in six years. Posing the question, did he really need to use steroids in years past or was he still on them? Conversely, Armstrong a seven time Tour De France winner won the races after undergoing treatment for testicular cancer. Meaning to say the drugs in his system could have been from the treatment for the cancer rather than performance improving based.
