Boxing Odds – Khan Looks To Put Away Peterson

WWE Raw fans looking to get their combat-sports fix should check out a boxing card on December 10th in Washington, D.C. as Amir Khan is looking to make a name for himself in the United States. He’ll aim to defend his WBA Super and IBF light-welterweight titles against Lamont Peterson, if Khan can remain focuses.

Khan Peterson Odds – December 10th, 9:30 PM ET

Khan (26-1, 18 KOs) is a massive price per head sports favorite in this bout, but he has been making waves about moving up to 147 pounds, where more lucrative fights await. He put on a show against Zab Judah in July to unify the belts, stopping him with a body shot in the fifth round. All that is left for Khan at 140, outside of Peterson, is a showdown with Timothy Bradley.

Peterson (29-1-1, 15 KOs) had a shot at Bradley’s WBO title in December 2009, and while he put up a great effort, he fell short in a decision. He also drew with Victor Ortiz last December before stopping Victor Cayo to earn this shot at Khan, and Peterson can be a handful as he is a tough guy, but does he have the speed to keep up with Khan?

“King” Khan is rated at -1100 to win this match, and he should rather easily if he is focused on the task at hand, not possible fights with Floyd Mayweather and Juan Manuel Marquez in the future. Peterson is quick, but he’s not as quick as Khan and probably doesn’t have more power, so he’ll need to pick his spots carefully to pull off one of the biggest online wagering upsets of the year in boxing.
